Country White Bread
• 1 1/2 cups water, lukewarm
• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 cup bread flour
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
• 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon olive oil
• 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
Add all ingredients to your bread machine pan in the order
recommended by your bread machine manufacturer. Use the quick or
rapid setting and medium crust; push start. Cool on a rack.
Slice and enjoy!
Makes 1 1/2 lb loaf of country white bread.
* Due to shorter time in proofing when using the quick or
rapid setting, this bread is very dense and hard, not so suitable
for Asian taste. Would recommend change to basic setting of 3 hrs
cook time for a more softer bread.
Tip: When your bread machine has been kneading for a few minutes,
check the dough. If it seems too stiff, add a little bit of water
and continue checking until it seems soft enough. If too wet, add
more flour in small amounts until it seems to be soft yet not
